Project Harvest hosts an In-Class Science Day for Hayden-Winkelman Unified School District

A community-engaged partnership has been initiated with the Hayden-Winkelman Unified School District in Winkelman, AZ. Events at the school are designed to spark student’s interest in environmental STEM learning. On March 27, 2017, Project Harvest hosted an In-Class Science Day where University of Arizona (UA) students, personnel, and faculty are leading hands-on science activities in K-8 grade classrooms while 9-12 graders are learning the about the science of dust and participating in a UA student panel about higher education. The event will culminate in a school wide gathering to share experiences, and conduct a phases of matter experiments and make ice cream using liquid nitrogen.
